GobiTours was set up in 1998 by Enkhtuya Banzragch and she still guides many trips herself and her family came from the Gobi region and her sister Enkhtsetseg helps coordinate tours from the southern town of Dalanzadgad. Other members of the family work as drivers, translators and guides, giving GobiTours an intimate and friendly structure which allows travellers to feel part of Mongolian life as they travel.

GobiTours offers Tours in 2 distinct styles - for Travellers and for Backpackers. The Tours for Travellers are more comfortable, travelling in modern Jeeps and staying at established Ger Camps with hot showers and with a choice of Mongolian and European food. The Tours for Backpackers are more demanding, travelling in Russian Jeeps and staying at local Ger Camps with outdoor showers and mainly Mongolian food.

GobiTours can also organise stays in the capital Ulaan Baatar, with a variety of hotels on offer. We can arrange trips around the city visiting the Gandan Monastery, the Bogd Khaan Palace and the Natural history Museum, as well as an Evening of Traditional Folk Song and Dance. Short Overnight Trips can also be arranged to the village of Gachuurt, the Manzshir Monastery and the Terelj National park.
