Younger sister of SIBERIA'S Lake Baikal,
Khuvsgul lake is the deepest in the Central Asia (265m) and the World's 14th source of fresh water. Imagine 2,760 sq km of alpine lake, with water so pure you can drink directly from the lake.

Khuvsgul, which contains more than 1% of the world's fresh water, is surrounded by mountains as high as 3492 meters.
Khuvsgul lake is located at altitude of 1645 meter above sea level, 134 km long, water beneath 100 meters, and 39 wide.
It is amazing that 46 rivers flow into the lake, but only a single river of Egiin Gol flows out and reaches to Baikal lake in Siberia.
Khuvsgul is famous place by TSAATAN people, the herders of Reindeers, who believe in Shamanism, living in high Taiga's forested mountains and there are only 30 families left in the west of Khuvsgul.
Khuvsgul is the best place for fishing in many rivers, lakes rich of endangered fish as well as horse trekking along the shore of the lake and through the mountain terraces.
